About Tank-Books
Tank-Books.com was created by Trevor Larkum of Armour Archive as an online portal to provide a source of information on, and provide a place to buy, currently available books on tanks. It was partly a result of frustration in not being able to find a major bookseller online that provided listings of books on tanks without the need to spend a long time searching through irrelevant titles. On Amazon, for example, a search for 'tank' books lists 8,000 titles, many completely irrelevant (e.g. Thomas The Tank Engine, Tank Girl, etc.).
It is hoped that this site provides an opportunity to display the many interesting and relevant titles available, and that it may get new enthusiasts into the subject. A small commission from each sale provides funding to Armour Archive, even though the prices are no higher than on Amazon, and this helps supports projects such as the free directory at PreservedTanks.com.
Why Use The Tank-Books Site?
- A site by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
- All available books have been divided into appropriate useful categories.
- Each link has been checked by hand.
- It helps keep PreservedTanks.com free.
Note that unfortunately stocks of specialist books are often kept very low (just one or two copies) so it cannot be guaranteed that books listed here are always in stock. However, by following the links given it is often possible to find the same title available in other forms (e.g. used or second-hand).
